A very big well done to the Four Oaks Cluster Choir for the superb performance at Warwick Arts Centre on saturday 25th February 2012. What a thrill to take part in the Choir of the Year auditions and watch many other choirs perform too. Even more of a thrill was to be awarded ‘Choir Of the Day’ in the children’s category – a very exciting moment! Pictures can be seen here…
The judges’ comments were extremely positive, and they seemed very impressed with the very contrasting programme: the fun, lively element in ‘If I Only Had A Brain’ from the Wizard of Oz, and the raw emotion in ‘With Or Without You’. You literally moved them (and many of the parents) to tears. We will post the full reports and marks as soon as we get them, but verbal comments included ‘sublime singing’ and ‘wow’!
This result means we are now through to the National Selection round, where the recording of our choir will be judged against other choirs that have got through from around the country – with a chance of performing at the Category Finals in October.
Thank you for all your hard work, commitment and enthusiasm – and also thank you parents for your support. We look forward to Music For Youth round one next week!
